Ethereum can scale to 9000 tx/sec due to Istanbul upgrade, Says StarkWare
StarkWare in the latest tweet said that Ethereum has the potential to scale to 9000 tx/ sec. The team added that the measurements are “not approximations nor estimates” but based on actual test results, adding Istanbul update helped.
Last month Ethereum underwent Istanbul update which adds six improvements including reducing the gas cost, performance and improves interoperability between chains.
As per the StarkWare team, one of the Istanbul network update called EIP-2028 helps Ethereum scale through a layer 2 solution by StarkWare to handle up to 9000 trades at 75 gas/ trade.
About EIP-2028:
This EIP update helps to fit more data within a single block resulting in higher bandwidth and increased scalability and thereby reducing gas cost.
Starkware is in-progress of developing an improved zero-knowledge proof technology called zk-STARKs helping to improve scalability and privacy of public blockchains.
The solution can be deployed as Layer 2 allowing developers to move computations and storage off-chain. StarkWare is expected to launch its main net soon. DeversiFi, a decentralized Ethereum exchange will be its first integration.
